Pho in the Wikipedia

We were happy to find a pho entry in the Wikipedia. Nothing ground-breaking to phonatics but it provides a decent overview for pho novices. Highlights of the page include:

  • A helpful (and accurate) pronunciation guide

  • Discussion of origins and regional influences

  • Styles / types of pho

  • Links to other Vietnamese foods like banh mi

  • An editor also linked to our pho restaurant guide in the external links section! We swear it was not one of us and are flattered to be recognized alongside other online resources about pho. Thanks Wikipedia!

    Un-pho-gettable

This writer from AsianWeek who pens articles as The Picky Eater is a pho lover after my own heart:

Call me a purist, but I like to smell and taste my pho the way it came out of the kitchen. I think the pungent sauces take away the natural sweetness and “beefiness” of the pho. If it takes that long to make broth, why mask the flavors with something spicy and sweet?
